What to Wear for Your Engagement Shoot

We get this question all the time before an engagement shoot, “What should we wear?” Hopefully this blog post will help all of you engaged couples out there!

Rules:

1. Make sure you two “go” together. Not too matchy matchy.

2. Think about your location. Outdoors in the city? Or on a hiking trail in the mountains? Dress appropriately. Ladies, always bring a pair of flats or tennis shoes for walking far distances if you’re wearing heels. Also, we want it to make sense. Don’t wear spring clothes in the winter with snow in the background, cute jackets and boots would look just as good!

3. It’s really trendy to have a theme for your engagement shoot. Make sure to dress your theme. Example: If you’re having a picnic, make sure to not wear an evening dress. A little extreme, but you get the point.

4. Stick to solids to be safe. OR one of you wear solid/neutrals while another is wearing a striped dress/shirt. Don’t do two patterns, most likely it wont work.

5. Always bring a bag of other clothes. The photographer knows what’s going to look best on camera, so bring backups.
